Anika Arias

Anika received her B.S. in MCB and Biochemistry from the University of Arizona in 2022. She was a Research Technician in the Bothwell Lab for a year where she studied trogocytosis in Breast and Kidney cancer, then entered the ABBS program as a CBIO student in Fall 2023. Her current research focuses on the impact of commensal bacterial species in the oral microbiome and how they impact the progression of oral squamous cell carcinoma. Outside of the lab, Anika enjoys crocheting, making music, and catching up on the latest TV show.
