Neuroimmune Circuits driving Allergic Immunity

Friday, May 1, 2026 - 11:00am to 12:00pm

The Immunobiology Seminar Series presents: "Neuroimmune Circuits driving Allergic Immunity"

Presenter Details

Caroline Sokol, MD, PhD
Assistant Professor, Medicine
Harvard Medical School

The Sokol lab investigates the neuroimmune circuits that underlie allergic diseases, with a particular focus on how sensory neurons detect environmental allergens and coordinate immune responses. They have identified novel mechanisms by which neurons recognize allergens based on their enzymatic activity, how innate immune cells promote neuronal allergen detection, and how cytokine signaling shapes neuronal responsiveness.
