Defining Mechanisms of CC16 on Epithelial-Driven Host Responses to Pathogens

Friday, October 31, 2025 - 11:00am to 12:00pm

The Immunobiology Seminar Series presents: “Defining Mechanisms of CC16 on Epithelial-Driven Host Responses to Pathogens”

Presenter Details

Julie Ledford, PhD
Professor, Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine
University of Arizona

The Ledford Lab's current work involves studies of pulmonary surfactant protein-A (SP-A), surfactant lipids, and club cell secretory protein (CC16) and how they participate in pulmonary diseases and immune system regulation. With a special emphasis on lung infections and asthma, they use a combination of animal modeling and human cells to better understand the roles of these endogenous lung proteins to overall host defense and lung homeostasis.
