The Immunobiology Seminar Series presents: “Deciphering Immune Mechanisms of Childhood Asthma”
Presenter Details
Anthony Bosco, PhD
Assistant Professor
Department of Immunobiology
University of Arizona
The Bosco lab specializes in employing systems biology approaches to identify novel cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying asthma and related traits. His team performed the first studies to identify rhinovirus-induced gene network patterns that underpin the pathogenesis of asthma and related traits. They have investigated these gene networks in children and in experimental animal models across multiple anatomical locations (upper airways, lower airways, blood, bone marrow). Dr. Bosco also co-founded a startup company called Respiradigm Pty Ltd., which develops technologies to predict at birth the propensity for a child to develop asthma. This technology will enable parents to take pre-emptive action to minimise the risk of asthma developing in their child. Read more
