Cellular and Molecular Medicine Seminar: ‘Analyzing Genomic Networks’

Thursday, May 2, 2019 - 4:00pm to 5:00pm

The University of Arizona Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine presents Dr. Megha Padi:

“New Tools for Analyzing Genomic Networks”

Thursday, May 2, 2019
4 - 5 p.m.
Sarver Heart Center, Room 4137

Megha Padi, PhD
Assistant Professor, Molecular and Cellular Biology
University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson

About Dr. Padi's Research
Large amounts of genomic data are being generated in all areas of biology and medicine, yet we still lack the ability to convert this data into mechanistic insights. To address this need, my group is developing a suite of computational methods that bridge genomics and network science, with the ultimate aim of understanding how signaling flow is controlled in healthy and disease contexts. I will describe our current efforts to identify changes in gene regulation between different phenotypes, evaluate their statistical significance, characterize time-dependent networks driving cell state transitions, and model heterogeneity in drug response.
