Amanda Sokan, PhD, MHA, LL.B

Regional Associate Program Director, All of Us Research Program at University of Arizona Health Sciences (UAHS), with a joint faculty appointment in the Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health at the University of Arizona
 
Topic: The Art of Climbing Ladders: Lessons Learned Across Time and Place
 
Dr. Sokan holds a PhD in Gerontology, and a Masters in Healthcare Administration from the University of Kentucky, as well as a law degree (LL. B) from the University of Buckingham, England. Her professional experience includes faculty positions in both Gerontology and Health Administration, program evaluation, and consultancy work. Her interests straddle the nexus of gerontology and healthcare, and include: Elder rights and justice, elder abuse and mistreatment, cultural competence, LGBT aging, Long-term care, aging and healthcare navigation, health promotion and well-being, provider relationships and workforce planning. She is a board member of the National Volunteer Caregiving Network and serves as both member of the Pima Council on Aging (PCOA) Advocacy Committee, as well as on its board. Amanda Sokan also provides gerontology related counsel to individuals and their families/caregivers.
