Laurie Baert, PhD

Postdoctoral Research Associate I

Laurie obtained her PhD degree in immunology from Grenoble Alpes University (France) in 2019. She joined the Wu lab as a Postdoctoral fellow in August 2019 to understand the role of microbiota in the development of autoimmune diseases. Lung complications are common in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and is the major cause of death in patients with RA. She focuses her work mainly on the mechanisms by which microbiota can trigger the plasticity of T cells that impact lung autoimmune pathology in RA-associated lung disease model. In her spare time, she enjoys the desert view of Tucson!
