Christy Harrison

Graduate Student, Kiela Lab

Christy is a senior graduate student in Immunobiology studying the interaction between the gut microbiome, ionic transport, and the immune system in inflammatory bowel diseases. Through some international travel, she has also developed a deep and abiding interest in global health, which she pursues learning about through a doctoral minor in Public Health and leisure reading as often as time allows. She is passionate about nutrition, leadership, social justice issues, and community, which are some of her favorite things to read about. In her spare time, she can't get enough of the outdoors, good books, great food, sunshine, and the friends she shares them with.
