Research in the Department of Immunobiology is aimed at advancing our understanding of the immune system and the host-microbial interactions that influence and dictate the outcome of an infection. IMB Research is multidisciplinary in nature involving studies of the molecular mechanisms that govern the recognition of foreign antigen and activation of immunity, studies on the microbial mechanisms of infection, immune evasion, and potentiation of immunopathology, and studies on the factors that control homeostasis and balance of the immune response.
