Topic: "There's Fungus Among Us: CDC's Fight Against Fungal Diseases"
U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention medical epidemiologist Tom M. Chiller, MD, MPHTM, will present current understanding of the public health impact of Valley Fever and other fungal diseases. He will also discuss examples of improved diagnostics and drugs being developed to address the problem. Dr. Chiller is the CDC’s deputy chief of the Mycotic Diseases Branch, Division of Foodborne, Waterborne & Environmental Diseases, National Center for Emerging and Infectious Zoonotic Diseases.
