Genetic Rush Hour: How the proteins of our cells follow traffic signs in normal and genetic diseases

This special presentation is a combined effort between the Buffmire Lecture Series and COM Dean’s 50th Anniversary Distinguished Lecture Series. Through a grant provided by the Flinn Foundation, the UA College of Medicine – Tucson has engaged Dr. Randy Schekman as its spring Buffmire lecturer. Dr. Schekman is a Nobel Prize-winning cell biologist and professor of cell and developmental biology at the University of California, Berkeley. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 2013 for his "discoveries of machinery regulating vesicle traffic, a major transport system in our cells."
